Built in 1916, Owned by Owyang Tin Git and operated as a dry goods store. 1928, sold to Suen Yock Lim and operated as a grocery, pool hall & ice cream parlor, incorporating gambling on the side. 1942, the ice cream parlor continued , bolstered by a small kitchen which served meals to the single men in town. 1973, sold to River Road Art Gallery, a cooperative that featured local art and great hand sourced musics!

Hey it's the equinox... and you know what that means... Skillet Licorice is playing the North Oakland 3rd Friday Square Dance. We'll be featuring an absolutely KILLER lineup: Kelly Marie Martin on Bass, Katy Hill Harris on geetar, and San Diego's own Clinton Ross Davis on fiddle and mando. You don't want to miss this monster of a dance.

Skillet Licorice hopes to begin a new residency at this legendary and storied San Francisco institution, the last of the Great Barbary Coast Saloons, Comstock. We'll be playing 3 full sets of music from 8-11pm, cranking out your favorite rags, waltzes and hoedowns from 100 years ago. Our good friend Allegra Thompson joins on Bass. You won't want to miss this.

The Comstock Saloon is most known for its roots as an original Western saloon and one of the first bars ever established in San Francisco. Locals and travelers alike have been raging at this bar since 1907 and there are no signs of it stopping now. This cocktail lounge offers a menu with classic cocktails such as the Manhattan and the Negroni in an intimate setting that pays homage to SFs legendary western saloons. The food is awesome too.

We're stoked to return to this wonderful series and venue!

This spot is supposed to be the best Texas Style BBQ west of the Pacos so come on down and let us know what you think, We'll be playing a bunch of sets from 1 to 4pm. Hope to see you there!

Blind Lady Ale House is an oasis for beer lovers, and nothing goes better with a pint than a slice. Blind Lady excels at both. One of their founders has a degree in brewing science, another is certified by the Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana, and the third, well, he's an artist who did an album cover for Blink-182 and Jack Johnson. Since they are a brew-pub, there must be bar snacks (Belgian frites, spicy beer nuts), but the pizza is king, from the classic margherita to more experimental options like the house chorizo with poblano chiles, fontina, epazote, and cotija (soyrizo swaps available upon request).

Skillet Licorice had so much fun on their Southern California Tour with Clinton Davis that they are doing it again this coming February. Skillet Licorice kicks things off on Valentines Day at Panama 66.

Panama 66 is a restaurant that occupies the open-air setting of The San Diego Museum of Art’s Marcy S. May Sculpture Garden. The focus is on locally sourced, hand-crafted food and drink, from salads and sandwiches to seasonal cocktails and more. Brought to you by the team from the award-winning Blind Lady Ale House and Tiger! Tiger! Tavern, the new bar features over a dozen purely local craft beer taps.

It’s Five Hours of live performance in the KALW studios by talented musicians and singers, mostly from the Bay Area hosted by JoAnn Mar, Kevin Vance, and Peter Thompson.

SKILLET LICORICE Elise Engelberg (fiddle, banjo) and Matt Knoth (banjo, guitar) play everything from hot fiddle breakdowns to dreamy waltzes, slinky blues to sparkling ragtime. They’ll be joined by Kathy Hill Harris (guitar, bass) whose timing is so impeccable, you'd probably think she works in a watch factory or something … and you'd be right!
